Frequently Asked Questions

No Surprises Act:

• You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. This would be included as part of your onboarding to become a client.

For more information on your right to a Good Faith Estimate visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Do you see clients in person?

At this time, all sessions are conducted via Telehealth for Idaho residents. A secure HIPAA platform is used for all virtual sessions. At some point in the future, in-person sessions may be offered for those who are interested and located in the Treasure Valley.

Do you work with teens or children?

At this time, I am focused on working with adults only.

I noticed you had a Bible verse on your individual counseling page. Does this mean you incorporate Christianity into your practice?

I identify as a Christian, but respect the fact that people have various beliefs and experiences. So many people have had bad experiences with religion, and I always want to be sensitive to that. Counseling is a time for you, and I believe the best counseling is collaborative and tailored to your needs. I am happy to incorporate spiritual integration into sessions for my clients, or leave it out altogether if that is a better fit too.

What type of flower is in your logo?

Poppies! The poppy has been used to represent remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.

Do you accept insurance?

Flourish Therapy does not bill insurance or other mental health benefit plans. However, depending on your health insurance provider, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. If this interests you, then please contact your provider in advance to see how your plan reimburses you for counseling services. Here are some important questions to ask your provider:

  • Does my plan include mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?

  • Does my plan offer out of network benefits? If so, what percentage is covered?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions I can have per year?

  • Does my plan dictate what length of sessions are covered (i.e. 45 minutes)?

  • Are there any other steps I need to take (such as a referral from a PCP) prior to receiving counseling services?

If you are eligible for out of network healthcare benefits, then I am happy to provide you a detailed receipt or “superbill” upon your request for services paid. You may be eligible for your insurance covering a percentage of the costs.

At the same time, here are some reasons why some clients choose not to involve their insurance provider at all:

  • A diagnosis label won’t be permanently attached to your health record.

  • Greater protection of your health records: information about you (including highly personal information) can’t be acquired by your insurance provider.

  • Instead of treatment potentially being dictated by the insurance company, we are more empowered to collaboratively create a treatment plan based on your personal preferences and goals, as well as my professional expertise.

How much does each session cost?

Sessions for individuals cost $120 for 60 minutes.

Sessions for couples cost $150 for 60 minutes.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major credit cards are accepted for payments.
